I need help sorting these boards though...these are blank Rambus sticks and since there is no metal casing they should be worth more however there are no chips so does it equal out to be worth the same as Rambus to refiners buying?


This is one of the many power boards I have from TVs and monitors that are LCD, do these go with computer power supply boards??




The video driver boards from TVs and monitors do they go with cable and satellite boards? (which for me is also the same for devalued/trimmed finger boards, printer, modem, and floppy boards)


And these boards from speed dial office phones? Go with the above grade same as modems? Or does this somehow make it into communication equipment?

in those last 3 photos you posted..the 2nd one looks to me like a board i get out of bigger smart tv sets...those black things that are in a row and kinda resemble sockete ic chips are actually some type of transformer or a choke of some sort...i finally popped one out and they are just dense copper coils...i have since popped them out of all the boards i have like that....the ones i have show at least 50 to 75 percent solid plating on one side

I have tried using the forum search but have not had much success and I'm trying to avoid asking my buyer more questions...but here are more.

What about these contact/remote control boards? Also I have some copper plated contact board any idea what I can class this as??


Now these must be worth something...lots of gold tracing they are from LCD monitors and TVs and a few are from laser printers/scanners you can see one all the way to the right, most of them don't have much density just gold tracing/bonding...


I have this pile still that I am afraid will be entirely "brown board" aka li-iron price at my local metal yard:


Here is a closer look at four examples; the one with all the lights is from a handheld game, you can see the board with a tube socket that is one of the dozens of monitor tube driver boards I have then the other two with digital faces might be from VCRs and such, any idea??

TV LCD power supply goes with mid grade low, $.35/lb

Mid grade low you say? I don't have that on my price chart yet for you guys, I have "Low Grade Brown Board" on the chart @ $0.21/lb so deciphering between $0.21 & $0.35 grades may become difficult.

The pile of boards are from tube TVs and monitors, but there is also video driver boards from higher end LCD TVs and monitors you told me in email belong with the $1.60 grade? Such as the following below:




I will pick apart that pile and repost some finer sorted piles for more help! I assume since that LCD panel non-populated gold trace board goes for $2.00lb I can mix it with small socket P4 and newer mobos??

The low grade brown board I have from audio amplifier units such as home receivers that have large capacitors like this still go as low grade brown board I don't have to pull them?

These are from microwaves and air conditioners still low grade brown board...but back to the topic of this thread...I'm curious if I can get the same price/not piss off my buyer if I strip IC's from my low grade brown board. Ohio @ $0.21/lb for low grade brown board is better then Manchester NH @ $0.12/lb which in that case I would mix it with my light iron at my local yard. Is there a high/mid grade brown board?

There can be different categories for these lower grade boards. Unfortunately, it's usually not worthwhile for buyers to differentiate unless there's a lot of material involved. If a place has an all inclusive low grade price, then all of these would fall into that category. I woulds say feel free to pick off the IC chips. Just don't strip everything down to bare boards.

The CRT socket boards aren't worth more, they're usually worth the least.

The laptop keyboard doesn't have any board in it. There just some silver mylar in there layered among the other stuff.

I would really recommend not spending any time at all on these types of boards. That is, unless you have nothing else to do. Throw all brown boards into a pile, sell as a lot, and move on to other things.

I got me a couple of the blue plastic 55 gal barrels and used a metal barrel lid (cause they cut the top out of the blue ones) to cover them, drilled a few drain holes in the lower sides and those were my outdoor storage units for low grade.

The last photo is what you are looking for. The more chips per square foot the better. I scrap part time so I don't have time to mess with brown boards. If a chip is in a socket I pull it, other then that it goes to a local yard. Everything else I sort as best as I can and is sent to Ohio.

The board in last photo will go much higher than brown board. I'll say in the $4 per pound ball park. Keep in mind this is a big ball park we're playing in.
