Some very old Comdial business phones had all the grids and tracings exposed on both sides and they where all gold plated. If I think of it I will get a photo. I probably tossed 1000 of them before I started scrapping.

Judging by my price list (for eWasted) that would be "finger boards/dual socket server mobo" or "low grade telecom"

I would say I take the time to remove the IC from anything going into the brown board pile which is where I believe the microwave boards belong. So if the traces on button boards are black and not exposed they are brown board, open traces put them aside?

Post #4 in this thread has a picture similar to your last picture. It is a telecom board. Shoukd be priced at $4 per lb or better. Your buyer though is the only one that will tell you for sure.

Your making this more complicated than it has to be. Send a picture to a couple of buyers and see what they say.

Sorry if this comes off as harsh but I looked back at this thread from the beginning. Every question you asked has been answered and you have responded with another question. You have been a member for over a year, have you read anything in the electronics recycling section? Most, if not all that you are looking for is in there.
Asking questions is not discouraged if someone is stuck, but its easy to recognize those who have not even bothered to try to read or use the search box to help themselves.

Other members have used their own valuable time to put together some really good stickies in most of the sections to help us all out. Please return the favor and show them that they did not waste their time.

I have tried using the forum search but have not had much success and I'm trying to avoid asking my buyer more questions...but here are more.

You said you're trying to avoid asking your buyer more questions but that's exactly what you need to be doing. I'm currently processing some telecom boards and the first thing I do is take pictures and send them to my buyer. I sent a few to him recently and he told me the boards were worth about 1 dollar a pound but if I removed the big transformers and capacitors then I could get 1.50 to 1.75 per pound. I could post a hundred pics here seeking advice but in the end it all boils down to what does your buyer have to say. I only depopulate to increase the value of a board. I'm not a pin puller or a chip picker. Not to insult any who may be. I just don't have time to worry about an IC chip that's on a brown board.

Buyers do not reply to my emails anymore....they answer about 4 of my 50 questions and call it quits.

It is very hard to find anything useful on this website, as I said before search yields nothing for me, stickies have common sense info; nothing on what I have. If you want I can post elsewhere on the site and not keep my mess here in this thread with photos to grab for anything.

"search box green board with black chips" search is only useful if you know what your talking about = useless. Stickies are basic to the bone.

Also I personnally have written material identification stickies and threads in an effort to help sellers zero in on what they have. What I see here is lots of questions about material most of as buyers will never see because its value is below shipping cost. I will still answer but not on material I know little about.

Nothing useful on this website? Really?
You've been here longer than me and I could answer every one of your questions. Do you know why? It's because I've spent the last 13 months READING on this forum. I started watching videos on youtube but you can learn only so much there and that's how I ended up here. It's like someone else said. All of your questions have already been answered.

Oh and google can provide a lot of answers for any subject. Just spent close to an hour reading about capacitors. How they work and what's inside of them.

EVERYTHING I know about scrapping and ewaste I have learned right here. EVERYTHING I know about refining I learned on another forum. The way I learned is by READING as many old threads as i could whenever I had free time.

To say there is nothing useful here is a slap in the face to anyone that has shared their knowledge FREELY and without asking anything in return for it. You seem to think you are entitled to an answer to every question. Well you are not.

One queation I have for you though...of all the questions you have asked your buyer(s) and recieved an answer to, how many times have you shipped them something? Maybe constantley answering your questions and not getting any material from you is the reason why they won't answer you anymore. Remember it goes both ways!!!

Also why would I waste my money shipping small amounts to them?? I sell in bulk none of this 20lb box crap...I will ship a gaylord and if they can not wait for that then I guess it is just not going to work.

I will try to be as courteous as I can when answering questions of potential clients.......I can only go so far though........After multiple emails/phone calls etc I usually just tell them if they would like to bring "said" material on over or have me come check it out we can move further.........We as buyers only have so much time in the day and usually our time is valuable to us

If I do not sort as much as possible before I ship it out I feel I wont have a good enough ballpark on my value and will get screwed at the buyers sort without actually being there.

That's why it may be a good idea to send small loads to multiple buyers and figure out which you like the best

Most buyers will do sorting to some degree without taking $ off right? If something was in a wrong category they will shift it around as long as there was a good attempt to separate things?

Ask the buyers!?! That is one simple question, not 40, so ask the buyers you want to send material to. Oh and many buyers have phones, one even has a "live chat" feature, so perhaps you could have a conversation with one if their email responses are not good enough for you...

    Yes. Try this;
