    What is this?

I have been searching but can't really find a thread about them. I'm talking about the gold looking cable that you find inside cd/DVD drives and various connections. Also iPhone flex cables are made with them. Maybe it's gold Mylar? I havent had luck finding anything about it maybe I can stop lurking and start asking questions thanks for the help

Thank you. I thought that was what it was but couldn't find much of anything. What do you guys do with something like this? Should I clip the ends and throw them with my connector ends or is there a buyer that buys these? I found some for keyboard Mylar but nothing about gold
