Experienced Scrapper
I have been scrapping heavy equipment parts for years and then saw the light with electronics.
I Scrapped out a bunch of tv's and recovered the copper and piled up all the boards. My question is now what to do with the boards. Break them down or sell them whole? And where in Mn can I sell them?

The suggestion would be to do a search for low grade boards on the forum and then read, read, read and read again. There is a wealth of information available on this forum, it just requires patience in doing searches and spending time reading. And then check the buyers section to see if there is anyone close to you that is listed as a buyer.

first take off any copper ..aluminum and ic chips...i leave flyback transformer on to give weight when you find a low grade board buyer
All the answers you seek can be found in older theards.
Its not difficult, if I can figure it out anyone can.
Those of us that have done our due diligence, and continue to do so, find it hard to answer questions that are easily answered by just doing a little finger work.
To be honest if your not willing to do the research ,which is easy thanks to this forum and its members, you really are not cut out for scrapping. Its hard work and takes discipline to make a real go of it.
There's several answers to your question, research will let you know which one fits your particular situation.
Hopefully you'll take this in the spirit it was intended. If you do you'll be amazed by what you'll learn from the archives. If not it's your loss. Either way good luck.

I get more than low grade boards for mine, but still lower than electric motors/transformers by usually 5-10 cents/lb

I did my research. The tubes under 32" went to Best Buy. I only took one over, a 36" for a friend. Before I agreed to take that one I found a city recycling place that took it for $10.00 after I scrapped it out. And the friend gave me $20.00 for getting rid of it for him. Plus he even loaded the monster and city recycle center unloaded it.
I am just reevaluating my options with the price drop and maybe someone came up with a new idea.
I'm glad scrapmetalforam is here to educate the public and I encourage everyone to do there part in reducing, reusing, and recycling LEGALLY.

What comes down to is what works for you, right now.
We can supply each other with different ways and methods. But it always comes down to what works or in my case how I feel like doing it at any given time. Everybody's situation is unique. If I had employees processing scrap I would be more concerned with a production type process.
But I scrap for completely different reason than someone else might. And that's OK.
There is no wrong way. I do it my way. And that can change at any given time.
I enjoy scrapping and learning new ways of prospecting.
You'll never know which way you " like " to do things until you try them all.
