board with more gold and pentium

So I found an old PC and this motherboard look to have a bunch of gold in it. More than other boards I've found. Its a tx97-xv. The CPU is here its a pentium MMX. I have no idea what one is worth can anyone help? I'm new to this. It looks like there is really nice gold pins around the chip. When you sell these do you remove the chip from the pins or sell it all as one piece. This board looks to have more gold than the others I've found. Can someone help me with getting the most for what I scrap.

That's a pretty standard high grade motherboard.
The CPU is most likely a purple ceramic, a good CPU is a K5 'Gold top', but most of the others are good to if its ceramic.

Most people would refer to it as 'Old school', which means that if you have the whole computer and its parts, often its better to sell it on eBay etc. Check if it runs, what else is in it etc.

The most obvious 'outside the case' thing to look for is the lack of USB ports. And the case is normally yellowing white plastic.
If its got a 'clicky keyboard' or even one without a numbers pad on the right hand side, its worth more too. Check the harddrive for its size.
There's older boards, with the '9 Pin DIN' plugs for the keyboard too.

Thanks. I wasn't even thinking of ebay. I already separated out the machine. I have 2 other older ones. I'll see if those work before I break them down.

The older motherboards often have a smaller Purple Ceramic CPU, similar style board, but the RAM are smaller and 'clip in' differently.

Or a huge CPU that's got a couple of bolts sticking out of the Gold cap, or the rectangle Pentium Pro, that's worth good $$.

There's been a couple of old computers that I wish I never scrapped down now. 1984 HP & a older one.
There's two I left 'as is' simply because they didn't seem to have a CPU.
A " good desision " I was told by a guy who collects Sord computers.

I didn't know about the old computer market. Is there a market for the really old ones? I ran across some xerox machines the ones with giant floppy drive a few years ago in someones garage. Are there buyers for that stuff?

If functional anything that harbors a Pentium 386, 486 or Pentium Pro has resale value. Lots of guys are buying these as "DOS- Gaming Machines"
So YES, their value- if functional- is far more than scrap rate. This applies to Desktops as well as laptops!
