Decide if you wan to sell them now or later. If now then get really good photos of them. A photo, front and back of each that are the same.
Sent the photos to the buyers that you are interested in doing business with. Make certain the buyers have current good feed back.
Buy or borrow a postal scale and determine if its time to sell. Also the cpu's you have a good but I didn't see the i860 listed on one of the buyers but I am certain he would give you a price. 73, Mike
"Profit begins when you buy NOT when you sell." {quote passed down to me from a wise man}
Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
If they were mine, I would sell them on ebay. Seems like there would be more money there from collectors.
I don't agree in all cases to selling on ebay.
I have sold both to buyers here and on ebay. You should be patient if you sell on ebay and price it/them high enough to cover your time and the expenses.
I sell other items but choose to sell quantities of cpu's both ceramic and the others to one of our buyers.
If you have a cpu that proves to be sellable, being a record of sales on ebay then I would go that way. 73, Mike
Well it takes quite a few to make a pound. The buyer here that I use pays $35 a pound right now. I think I did better with these on ebay
6 Rare White Ceramic Processor Scrap Gold CPU Recovery Vintage Collect 1986 | eBay
FOUR LSI LOGIC VINTAGE CPU RARE GOLD PLATED CERAMIC - COLLECT or SCRAP RECOVERY | eBay
Of course these weren't name brand, highly sought after chips, but my pictures weren't great either.
I don't know alot about rare cpu's but I have yet to see white ceramic ones like in your listing. To me those are rare.(but I am not a collector just a scraper)
A follow up question. Did you get a quote per pound from one of the member buyers? If you did I do not want to know from whom you got the quote since prices change. Thanks Mike
I have four more of those white CPUs sitting here. I think I will hang on to those to see where the market goes.
I have several different kinds, but the numbers are different and the look just like the 680s I also found one that is reflashable that's gold plate. Wondering if ewasted would be a good place or a private buyer. EBay not my thing it seems they get you when you sell and when you receive the money PayPal again takes more.
If I were you I would start checking out the buyers here and buyers that might be local to you. There's plenty here with reviews and who knows, there may be someone close to you also.
Yep, because of this forum you are aware of several options. Take your time. Also just because they look very similar does not mean they have the same pm content. Similarly small differences in collectibles make can make a big difference in desirability and prices. It takes time and effort. Mike
