Give back more to this world than we take.

Don't mean to revive dead threads, but this thread was the first time I'd heard of motors that size. Kind of curious if you happened to get some pictures before tearing apart or selling.

There are pictures of this type of motor in a thread called "Scrappers Dream". There are three different threads under this title and I cannot tell you which one has the pictures.
I managed to get them to the shop, but work picked up and so has my hours. But I will take pics when I start tearing into them.
I managed to get some time to work on one of the motors since they shut us down for hurricane Harvey( we came out ok, 12" of rain all 5 days. Came close to flooding but all good). These things are a total pain to tear down. Messed up the tip on my torch, a 6" grinding disc, my air hammer came in handy with the slag that built up on the housing which was cast. Lots of copper, lots of aluminum, some silver contacts, had 8 strips of monell( I think that's how you spell it), some brass, and stainless steel. Still not able to post pics( did take some). The whole one I got 253$. The dismantled one came in at 468$. Since then I got all 12 of the motors, they changed all of them out.( that's 12 including the 3 I already had). Since tearing them down would be a nightmare, I'm going to check on getting them redone, or try selling them to a company that does that. Just thought I would give an update on this post if anyone was wondering.

thanks for the update but we're just really waiting for the pics .
Glad to hear you got through the weather event ok. I live near the coast of NC and have been here for 5-6 hurricanes and the anticipation alone is a pain.
I'm not surprised you are considering not breaking them down. The largest I have was 95lbs and would never do it again.
Let's get on those pictures Mister. 74, Mike

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
