I picked up a very old server its a AVIION 3600. I cant find any info on it so I just wanted to peak inside and found some awesome drives in it. So then I had to open it up all the way and found a few CPU's like I have never seen before. Keep in mind I tear apart PC's an occasionally a few newer servers all night long so to get a vintage server is a E-Scrappers score in my eyes. This thing is just under 3x3 inches and HEAVY. What category would these fall under for scrap price?

Here are the drives in this thing,,,They're pretty cool.......
We have a guy who buys rare cpu's he may be able to give you more info on it. Also how about a photo of the other side of the cpu? 73, Mike

The large gold cap on the other side of that old Pentium CPU would be a fine picture to post! You should be able to get a good $30 or so on Ebay from a collector if you list it there. Maybe more if you can test it in that server and it works. But like miked said, there are at least two buyers of vintage CPUs in the Buyers and Sellers section who might have some ideas about what you can do with it.

Based on the picture and research online, looks like a pentium pro. Should have a gold cap on the other side and say intel pentium pro. I believe they are about $60 per pound or $15 each as scrap.

Honestly, if you Ebay the board- WITH the CPU's still in their sockets (and you didn't ruin the heatsinks) You'll likely fetch far more than scrapping the CPU's alone or even selling the CPU's alone.
The board itself is worth something.. the board with CPU's is REALLY something!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
Go to the buyers and sellers section. Look for both of the rare CPU buyers and ask them.

Neat! I found one of these recently in an old Dell desktop. It is huge and the massive green heatsink it was glued to made the whole thing look like some kind of weird, metal hedgehog monster.

I've only found one before. I got it in the socket on the shelf in my room. Its pretty cool. There getting harder and harder to find.
