OLD laptop motherboard, with embedded i486 chip?

    OLD laptop motherboard, with embedded i486 chip?

    I got this motherboard today as I was breaking down some old laptops. This one I think was out of a 1994?? or 1991?? laptop. I know the i486 processors have some pretty good gold content, but I have never seen them embedded into the motherboard and not in a socket like this. Im assuming I gotta get the chisel out and get it off the board? There is also a bunch of other, similar size looking chips embedded on this board, are those anything good?

    Just leave the chips on, and sell as it is. They are just IC price, nothing special, except that you don't see it often.

    The only surface mounted chips I ever take off a board are gold capped and then only on rare occasions. Recommend leaving it on, taking off the metal and seeing if bc it has a surface mounted CPU and is otherwise a lovely board if someone will pay you a higher telecom price for it

    Oh yea hmm look at that. It was already ripped apart some before I got it so selling as a complete laptop was out of the question, but might try my luck putting it on ebay and seeing if I get any takers

    Yea I think I will try to list the whole board on ebay and see if there is any interest. If not, then ill see if I can scrap it next
