Thanks much for the info easy. Always appreciated. I think i will be further ahead by removing the board and including it in with the mother boards. I still have the hull to scrap and I see that platters are selling on E-bay for a couple bucks a pound. Plus I like dismantling stuff.

I just broke down 4 of them. I will start a fresh post with the details and weights so we can have a thread dedicated to hard drives.

What would a mid grade board be? I have boards from pc's that don't have fingers, does this make them mid grade?

Still high grade. In my book there are only two grades. Low and high.

Forgive me if I missed it, but how about cd-ROM boards and other drive boards?

I was told by a buyer that they buy cd/dvd boards and 3 1/2" floppy boards at motherboard price. It may depend on who you are dealing with like most scrap materials.
