Normally when I get a bunch of one item or a similar item and I decide to sell it on eBay I just trow it all together in as a lot. Seems to save time and money. Bear suggested in my last auction http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/ebay-...tware-lot.html that I try smaller auction so this is my attempt at that. What better item to break down into singles auctions but vacuum tubes. Especially since I took around 300 of them on consignment. Here they are...

Also if you have any with a top cap (plug in) on top the CB- Ham amplifier builders like those. Esp. the bigger first numbers. Even the 6LQ6 is real hard to get now.

No reserves on any of the auctions. With so many to list I want to turn and burn.

I really don't see how you can sell anything with free shipping for less than $10 and hope to show a gain ?

Agreed. Fees and shipping will kill the profit at any rate less than that.

Make some bigger lots would be my suggestion. I saw your post on Facebook actually about sorting them. I replied to a friends comment that he would just chuck them in the garbage. LOL. Spend some time searching the various part numbers. List the best ones individually, then list others in lots of 10 or 20 each lot. Don't mess around with small sales with free shipping. The only time to do that is if you have a quantity of the exact same item and just let it roll, because you won't have to spend time taking more pictures, writing a listing, etc. Just a click or two and the next one is ready to sell.

That being said, from the picture that I saw on facebook you probably have some duplicates and you may do alright.

I'm so glad you said something about that shipping!!! For some reason, in my head they would be cheaper to ship than that! I raised them all up to $9.95. Shipping is going to be at 6.35 or below so at 9.95 I'm only making 2.02 after Paypal fees and eBay fees. It will help bring my total sales up though and that was another reason for listing them all individually.

That's good advice Bear but I have been running each one's completed listings to see where they have been selling at and frankly they haven't been selling. I'm only going to post a few more tonight and I am done. One of them is an 832A and I might not put a buy it now on that one. I'm just tinkering with the individuals though Bear. I'll run them each a few times and them just take them out of rotation. I'll make a big lot of the losers and see if they'll sell that way. Ya'll wait till I start posting the tube testers, I have some really good ones!

If you use a 4x6" padded envelope then the shipping would only be about 2 or 3 oz which would be 1.69 first class, wrap them in bubblewrap then into the envelope. I ship a lot of stuff that way. There is automatic $50. insurance.

Your right bear, It is a lot of work! I give up, here is the whole lot and for the cheapo! 315 tubes for 65$!

I sold a bunch of tube testers a couple of years ago. With out testing them, they won't bring a bunch. Mine all went for around $20 or so each plus shipping. You have a bunch of tubes. Fire them up and test some tubes. That will also test the testers.
