    Recent Auction Blunder...Duht

Well I just shipped my biggest blunder to date. I had an old 6MP Canon camera given to me by a friend which sat in my utility closet for 2 or so years. Around 3am I was listing some items and decided to try and sell it. I checked sold auctions and had a pretty good guess what it could go for on its own, but it was a complete setup so I put a by it now price that I was comfortable with--at that time. I literally listed it and it was no longer than opening another browser to check the listing when someone bought it. In all of my 14+ years on eBay that was by far the quickest sale...maybe 5-10 seconds. I'm guessing I had under-priced it because I received an offer for $75 more from someone else, but I honored the sale and chalked it up to experience. I also remembered to be grateful because 15 seconds earlier I did not have that money nor a need for the camera. It was also a learning lesson to not go and list things late into the night on a half charged brain.

    Live, learn and move on.

Anybody else have similar moments of what was I thinking?

    -Jeremy

Wait, what? I thought it took a bit of time for ebay to index new listings and be searchable.

Anyways, can't go wrong with a quick flip. I have sat on stuff for several years before it finally sells. Usually it's a small niche/speciality item when that happens.

When asked them, they just said it was a good kit, but I think they're a camera shop and think that they were employing a 'bot of some sorts.

What do you mean by a "complete setup"? How much was it? Did you research current prices for the complete set? Did it have extra lenses or something?

I don't see a blunder, just a little sellers regret. You got what you thought was a fair price at the time. And you didn't have to buy it to flip and make a profit. I've had a couple of things that sold within the hour and I always wonder if I should have "bumped it up" a little more. One item was something I could not find any listings for it for any kind of an idea, so I listed with a price and checked this forum for new postings and went back and someone had already bought it. Told the wife that I must have sold it for way too cheap for them to jump on it so fast.

But it's like you said, it's money you didn't have yesterday.

Stuff like this happens too often to me when buying or selling. I suggest a price that leaves me room to negotiate, and they say yes without even thinking. Then, I think "Manure," I should have asked for more/offered less.

^^Junklady, I think if you type in an item, it will also bring up items of the same type that have already sold. dont quote me on that though lol.

You can hit the "completed listings" which is expired sales that either sold or didn't sell. Or hit the "sold listing" and it will show all that have sold in the last 60 days. Mine's to the left down thru the different menu's.

Yes, The Regional rate Priority box's are USPS
You can get them for FREE >> https://store.usps.com/store/browse/...S_RegionalRate

This link goes to all the USPS Priority materials >> Again >> ALL FREE >> Shipped to your home >>
    https://store.usps.com/store/browse/...S_PriorityMail

There is a Company that buys cores in my area
RAS >> Welcome to Rebuilders Automotive Supply
Once you sign on with them you can run a VIN and they provide a list of things they are willing to buy

Hollanders after 1990 cover both Domestic and Foreign in the same edition and cover 15 years prior to the pub date
1989 and prior cover ONLY Foreign OR Domestic and only cover 10 years prior to the pub date
I have almost every edition Hollander has published, so let me know what year span you need
Most of the vehicles I am getting now are 2003 back to 1988 >> 69th edition
I sell the Hollanders on eBay and will sell to people that contact me thru this forum for at least 10% less then the eBay price >> 10% being eBays cut

Next to the search button, you will see "advanced" in small letters. Click on that, then you can find "completed listings" and "sold" just under the search button on that page.
