Just a note - the GSP isn't as good as ebay makes it seem. Search the ebay community forums for many opinions on this program.

The global shipping program is awesome, you are putting the bulk of the responsibility on ebay. I have sold a ton of stuff through it and never had one problem.

In case your not aware, just the listing is free. You will still be charged a Final Value Fee of about 10% when the item sells.

    Still beats listing fees.

eBay gives me 50 free insertions per month anyways. If I did auctions, this could be a neat deal.

I only do Buy-It-Now listings, and I require immediate payment. I'm don't trust the online community.

You could do auction with the Buy It Now feature if you need to take advantage of the extra free listings.

My fear is of stuff ending low. For what I sell, I'm better off to pay the listing fee than run the risk of auction prices.

That's one lesson that I had to teach myself!

Most of my listing are BIN with IP as well, unless it's some oddball item that the price is not so predictable.

That's good everyone's had alot of luck - I've found auctions to work better for me because I don't come off as a commercial entity and general people love one of their own. Now that I'm thinking about it, does anyone know when a new account doesn't become a "new" account?

It depends on the person. When shopping on eBay, I consider someone to be "experienced" once they've reached 100 feedback. If they have a lot of negatives, though, I won't buy from them unless I have no other choice (Oddball parts only). I've bought from people with less than 100, but it's not my preferred choice.

I set mine up like a little storefront, even though I don't have an eBay store yet. For what I sell, I figure that people will assume that a business is more trustworthy.

It depends on what you're selling. What works for one person may not work for another.

I use to be the same way, I would stick with those that had either 100% feedback or close to it. I'd also have a storefront if I were selling enough volume to sustain what they charge. I'll get to that point eventually...

I don't sell that much! But, I phrase my listings to sound that way. For example:

These sticks have been pulled from working machines, and have been tested by our trained technicians to ensure that these sticks are ready to go!
I think that it makes us sound larger (Notice I said Us, not I), and lends a little credibility.

I'm not large enough to have an actual eBay store, though. Maybe someday....

I used to do 10-day auction that would cost 40 cents a pop. For the past 6 months or more I've gone to 7 day auctions. If the item doesn't sell I generally mark down and relist. I'll usually do this 3-4 times before I give up on an item. I never get charged listing fees now, only final price fees and final price on shipping, and then paypal's cut. My fees take a larger percentage on "smalls". Getting up a ways in price, the percentages come down. I know I could probably shave things a bit on overall fees but my eyes glaze over on the technical ins and outs and change comes kind of hard (perhaps too stubborn and a bit lazy
