I put this listing up to see what it would do. It is junk from my bench. Anybody want to critique the listing?

The listing looks pretty good to me. I'd personally mention the Priority Mail shipping right in the listing, but that's really all I can think of there. If you can work it in, I'd put "Gold Recovery" in the title- you already have both words, but putting them next to each other may make someone see it???
It's a pretty nice listing, though. It'll be interesting to see how it does....

I see that it sold.
That's so cool.
I still haven't taken the eBay plunge, yet.
But iam learning thanks to you guys!
Unfortunately shipping will cost more than what the buyer paid for the items

Mikeinrecovery is sadly right- shipping will be $5.25 for the small flat rate envelope (Hint: Fold the corners outwards and you can turn it into a "box")
Make $4.75 USPS Flat Rate shipping box
But, still after eBay fees, you may have broken even at best (Assuming you have nothing into the cost of the lot). It could be worse- I'd rather learn on cheaper items than the expensive ones!
In the future I suggest you determine the very least you will accept for the item and start the auction at that price. An alternative I normally use is do the "buy it now" above the very least I will accept.
When I sell to the buyers here on the forum I know I will be selling a large amount at a known price with the minimum of effort on my part. When I sell on ebay I sell small amounts with alot of effort on my part so I have to make more money.
I am unsure if it helps but if I wanted to buy gold bearing material on ebay I would want to buy lots of the same or very similar items. As an example 12oz. gold plated pins, or 15 gold topped cpu's with a total weight of 8.2oz.
Yours was a very mixed group making it more difficult to understand what the return would be. I assume the hobbyist who want to buy these for gold recovery have varied experience with items and prefer to buy certain ones.
Thanks for sharing others will also learn from you experience. Mike

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
I have been on E-BAY since 99 and only had luck buying scrap local ,I mainly sold HI-PO Ford parts but tryed selling cats for scrap back in 2001 they shut me down right away ,never tried gold might give it wirl thanks for input everyone.
Yes the shipping, eBay fees, and Paypal drove one directly through the jeans and deep. Oh well like I said it was just an experiment. Otherwise I am killing it on eBay. I have a set of Lambo Murci wheels up for a friend for $5495, when they sell I'll get like a $1000 plus fees. Audi part for $500, Vette wheels going tonight, I sold some Evo Weathertech Mats for 100 plus ship, and like 30 other items.
It is becoming a full time business and very lucrative.
http://webuyanythingfast.com is my new web site, I have some tweaks to do. The form for contact emails me directly and autoresponds. I am having trouble making money scrapping, but I just keep buying large lots and small lots of items and listing the Craigslist and eBay.

Here is a good one. Had this on a shelf for maybe 3 years. Sold in 24 hours or so for $18.97, free shipping. Great deal but it didn't open right. So the buyer was real cool said it worked just didn't open. I offered refund up to full price, he said just send my $10, cover your fees.

Man, that big of deal on ebay would make me do some pukering!! I know they used to have a service (for a cut of course) where they'd hold the money until everyone was cool with the results (was it called "escrow"?). Good luck nothing goes wrong with those big deals, I'd be sweating it. But that's just me...
There are always the possibilities of problems. You just have to work to be very specific. I have sold another set for a Gallardo and ones from a Ferrari F430. Both on eBay and no problems.
The guys at the car shows are starting to know me and that I will pick up the rims and do it all. Drop off cash. The best is that it is all word of mouth from one car to another. Most of these guys are driving $200K plus cars. What a hobby. Nothing better than a good name and trust.
