What kind of projector do you have? I broke down a slide projector today and it had 2 electric motors and 2 pieces of clean cast aluminum 1 piece of plastic and the rest was steel also a hand full of insulated copper. Took about 15 min. to brake down.
Research any projector before you scrap them! They are very expensive and may have value in the parts. The bulbs are also very expensive and may have decent value if working.
Sold an 8mm bell & howell projector recently for $50. I got it on a garbage run. The bulbs can go for anywhere from $20 to $100. I just picked up 2 more 8mm on a pick up for computer towers. Lady said they were her parents and all the film was converted onto dvd so she had no use for them. Havent tried them yet some of them go for descent money on ebay so investigate what you have before scrapping.

Take a while to break down, the case and frame was magnesium alloy -originally I thought it was plastic as it was so light. Got a small high grade board and a gold dlp chip ($85/lb)
