What Not To Do - VHS Tapes

Seriously...There's about 5 micro screws, and a little sliver of stainless steel.

And for fun, I took the spool of film and rolled it across my shop. Don't do that either. The fun versus clean up ratio is not balanced, at all.

Make sure its not a beta bear. Working those units still sell decent. better if you got star wars stuck in it.

Thanks Dune, I went and got the number, it's a panasonic nv-9100a There's one on Ebay the guy's asking $50 buy it now, with an undisclosed shipping rate Panasonic 3/4" Professional Cassette Recorder NV-9100A | eBay None in completed listings. Really don't see much anywhere for it, might toss it up on CL before i scrap it, or look for a forum about video units and see if anyone wants parts. Ha! I found one on copiers/printers, who knows ; )

I hate undisclosed shipping. Who does that. It is the ultimate reason for me to not buy.

It only showed me a "contact seller for shipping" He's probably wanting 10-20 on packaging, that thing would almost be worth that for packaging and taking to the shipper. It's big, bulky, and heavy

Some of those old Pro SVHS units are super heavy and made mostly of metal.

I was never much of a VHS/DVD collector. I do have a couple working VCR's I got new back when I used to rent tapes at the store (Both JVC, VHS and a SVHS). These days they get used for video input to my old video capture computer setups (I collect them). I have been looking for a pro model SVHS VCR that has Sync input (to make sure audio and video stay in sync) and remote RS232 or RS485 so I can control it from my computer while editing. They are either too far away that I don't want to pay $100 just for shipping, or stupid crazy pricing with issues.

I just got a Beta player yesterday, some lady gave it to my girlfriend to bring to me (put up ad at her work). Will be checking Goodwill for a beta tape to see if it works. I've found them there before, believe it or not.
