Something to think about there. The yard in the town north of me is only paying $1 a pound for motherboards. The local scrapyard is diferent as I am their e-guy as of thus far and we are seeing what comes in. They are currently getting their feet wet and are buying any and all boards at just 10 vents a pound. I get to sort through them and help them out.

I would think about pulling the CPU in that situation and reattaching the heatsink if they are taking them that way. Won't last for long, but who knows.
