Need help, what is this? Where's my CPU?

breaking down one of my servers from today. All excited to pop that heat sink off to see the CPU. Needed to remove the entire Mother board and undo the heat sink from the bottom of the board. First time i had to do this. Heat sink was large, didnt release like all others. thought i had something extra special under there. finally got the heat sink off and it separated in like 3 pieces. Again, never seen that before. Well when i got it off, i didnt recognize what i saw as a normal CPU. i tried to pry it off and it kinda crumbled like ceramic. i see gold pins. i dont know if i can actually remove it. in the picture its the two tone shiney thing on top. Any idea what im looking at? Thanks.

i would assume above the normal cost of a server board? or would it just be the additional weight to the board? Sorry man, just anxious to get answers. I did send Olddude a PM like you suggested. But id imagine him being as old as he is, he's been sleeping since 8pm.

"may cause chronic beryllium disease" i guess there was reason to be scared at first. I better go wash my hands, LOL. i think ill stop prying. Beryllium disease just to please my curiousity of whats under there, ill pass. thanks again.
