Taking My E-waste Company To The Next Level...Just Bought A Box Truck

Hi everyone, i just traded in my old 1994 Toyota Truck and $400 (loved that truck) for a 1981 Ford Box Truck with 16 foot box. My next goal is to letter it and leave it in various parts of my town for advertising. Anyone know what lettering or wraps roughly cost? Since about 85% of all my ewaste comes via donation do you think I should advertise "we purchase computers" on the truck or only that we recycle them for free?

I think thats the route I'm going to go. I charge for any CRTs ($.50 per inch) unless they donate computers.

If you're in a city, with lots of high rise office buildings, be sure to put a decal on top as well (Read this suggestion long ago in "How To Swim With The Sharks, Without Getting Eaten Alive") You'd be surprised how many people in those towers are looking out the windows at the street ; ) It'll also help to identify your truck from the air if ever need be, and help to give some ID in other, worse scenario, cases, helping ease any suspicions, Haha, You might even get a call from the FBI, "uhmmm, we saw your truck at 1st st and Vine, and wonder if you can dispose of our computers"

Decals are probably the best way to go, unless you'll be painting it yourself, or getting a good deal from a good painter. They're fairly easy to install, extremely tough, can't be too much(trucking co's have used them for centuries), are consistent decal to decal, and don't look bad at all

Fedex in Manassas off Liberia Ave, quoted me $200 for my truck.

I would only advertise for free pickup, UNLESS you are comfortable enough with what your doing to pay.

Be very careful when you go to the next level and letter everything up. Whether you fall under the DOT regulations or not, you will still become a target for your local commercial vehicle enforcement officer.
