I remember the years before year 2000. A lot of computer magazines were full with tragic predictions for what will happen in the New Years Eve, some seriosly pointing on the risk of nuclear power plants disruption due to Y2K problem
Of course, nothing seriously happened, but I also figured some companies turned the Y2K confusion into a market advantage with this stickers.
Memories! Very cool find. Those were the good ol' days for sure.
A lot of people made a lot of money in preparing for computer shut downs,
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
There were a number of machines which would not roll over into 2k, and it took a new BIOS chip to upgrade them. I changed mine out, to the tune of about $80, then reflashed it using the floppy disk they had sent, a scary operation for a relative newby. Not sure what happened to that floppy disk, but I was afraid to even leave it close to the pc ; )
lol! the good ol days!
When I first got online, sometimes software programs would conflict with each other, and a pop-up box would say "this computer has performed an illegal operation, and will be shut down". The first time I saw that it flipped me out, I shut down the PC, unplugged the phone, shut off the lights, and set there waiting for the FBI to come knocking on the door.
wow way back in the olden days hahahaha

Nice shot Mech! You shoulda seen it from where I was standin ; )
Lightning's really easy when you get the right conditions, the best of which is to be 10-15 miles away, and not right in the thunderstorm, with the wind swirling all around ya, standing out in the dark. I've seen times when I stood there so long I had to run for cover, nope! Best to stay well away from it. I would've posted it here but I'm not getting the link/photo icons on my page
