    bare board with pics

I came across a bushel bin of boards at a yard sale. Only 5.00 bucks for like 20-40 lbs. Frickin heavy. Planning to snap the gold fingers off, but just want to make sure there isnt silver in the traces. Can someone take a look plz? Thanks. Thinking Im getting a lb or 2 of fingers out of this deal. Each board is almost identical and still in plastic.

I don't know but I would think you could cut the fingers off and maybe sell the rest of the board if in fact it is silver. You might have to have it tested or get a silver test kit and test it yourself.

Most boards are HASL (hot air solder leveling) or plated with gold. I have dealt with silver boards and they usually tarnish very quickly. If those are not tarnished and they came from a garage sale, I would guess HASL myself.

I honestly don't know if this is a good idea or not, but how about taking one in to a pawn shop and having them test for silver? Stupid as it might sound, the most they can do is laugh at you.

Or maybe send one to Barren so he can test it.

Most likely the traces are Tin plated.
As said above, Silver will tarnish. No tarnish, no Silver.

Well I will have to upload another pic. But, the ones not covered in the plastic, seem to be tarnishing. I tried to get Weisman to hit it with the gun, but was told I was busting his balls over ****. lol.
