    Laptop Hard Drives

One of the hard drives I pulled out of one of the laptops I got, I noticed it was a 500gb hard drive. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

Anyways, that go me to thinking. Are laptop hard drives in real high demand like most desktop hard drives are?

I plan to check ebay for the 7 or so hard drives that I have right now.

Last batch I had, I sold one on ebay for $15.

George, they seem to have a higher failure rate so check them well. But yes they seem to be more popular now that more people are going to laptops. Esp. a 500 gig.

Laptop hard drives are very hot but you also got to take care of them alot more once you pull them. If you throw a hdd in a box you probably just broke it. Cheap bedding foam is best, Just layer the boxes as you go for you good ones. I try to sell them at 10$ per 100 gigs.
Born to think, destine to succeed.

So, then to sell this particular one at a minimum of $50? Not bad, I say.

All the pcs/laptops work. They are got upgraded, and sent them to my client for disposal, and that is how I got them. They don't care what I do to them, as long as I erase all the hard drives.

Yeah, I give it less than 5 years and everyone will be on laptops because they will stop making desktops.

They said that 5 years ago 10 years ago and 15 years ago.. So don't count on your 5 year prediction.

For me personally, there is nothing like a desktop. I can always get a lot more work done because it is a permanent work station. Everything is more spread out, the screen is bigger, the computer cools better, can run faster etc.

My last laptop, I used as like a desktop: did all of my work on it, left it on for long periods of time, stored a lot on, etc. and it got burnt out in a little after a year just right after the warranty expired. I was bummed. Laptops do have their advantages but, I dont think they can replace a desktop when doing some serious work on the computer. Of course that is just my preference.

Desktops, laptops, netbooks, tablets, and smartphones have their uses.

Any laptop made in the last 5? years would be SATA, what do you do with the older IDE laptop HDs?
