    What could this be from?

I was going through some boxes of boards tnite, looking for gold pins and fingers when I came across this connector. I don't know what it came from so I'm wondering if anyone recognizes it. I'd like to get my hands on some more of these if those blocks are plated ..

Pretty sure I've seen a LOT of those on EBay for gold recovery the last couple months. Many pounds. I've always wondered what they came from... I have no idea, but something to do with satellite or cable does make sense. I know those guys don't re-use ANYthing, so I could see a lot of equipment being scrapped. It might vary from region to region, but HughesNet (terrible, don't ever use them if you can help it) and Dish will dispose of equipment even if the customer only used it a day and then sent it back for whatever reason.

I just scrapped out a board that had similar connectors to that. It was a military board.

YES I have seen that before! Somehow I missed that first pic or just immediately forgot about it. Definitely a SUN connector... the exposed part is a bit unfamiliar though, the ones I remember were on the cords from monitors. Must be the connector from the board.
