I've taken tons of these apart but came across a small plastic box with what looked like the teeniest tiniest ball bearings possibly inside a recent hard drive. Maybe for weight or balance or something? they were so tiny if you shake it they really dont make any kind of noise.

ive seen those in a lot of drives. i think they might be for moisture to keep the drive working well... like silica gel found in food packages... but im not sure
