I have looked for over two hours and can't find out what the heck this is. It says quanta on it. Model ocg-34/38. Serial number is 87-34-86. Manufacturer date is 08/87. There's a Quanta Computer that started in 88 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quanta_Computer, not sure how that would relate to your 87. It could be an older company that either sold out or maybe it was an early prototype, no clue really. Either way you probably shouldn't scrap it. Also might check, if it was in an assortment of other things, to see if the monitor or other things might have been separated. Also, if the cover is easily removed, a good pic of the inside board and the back might help.

i missed that first pic the first time around, looks like a bunch of network connectors. Maybe it was a server or gateway of some sort(just a wild guess)

darn! now i'm wondering if it's 5.25" drives or 3 1/2? That's a hek of a board on there! Check the chip numbers for an 8086, 8088, 286 etc. There should be at least one, maybe most likely those in the top left of the picture

Its a video surveillance dvr box im willing to bet, i just tore down one the other day that had 4 cards with 4 connectors on each that looked exaclly like those for a 16 channel setup.

haha! that's possible. It helps to read the connector layout too ; ) On that first photo, if you click the + to enlarge it, and get out a magnifier, you can see there's 4 outs and 2 "in"s. I can't really read what the rest of it says there, looks like a J100 on some of them
Board is made by quanta with model number qcg34/38 on board. Drives are 3 1/2 inches. There are over 100 chips some numbers are 8618,8627,8705,8635, a lot are 8719. Bear, if you were any closer to Wisconsin I would ship you one for nothing as I got 2 for free, problem is they weigh 45 lbs. On the back, there are 2 in and four out. This came from a television station if that helps any.

The one i tore down looked like a regular computer on the inside except that it had a hot swap hard drive that was locked down and had the 4 4 channel cards in it.
