    Best way to sale?

Short introduction New to the whole ewaste/scrapping scene nice to meet all you nice folk. Now for the question

Im not going to post any specific information as I have not donated to advertise yet. But what is the best way people like to buy computers. 90% of them are complete minus hard drives for security reasons. But the question is the drive. If I remove the drive and remove the platters do people still want the drive carcass charge for it or just toss it in as extra in the deal. I see most people say 5$ per tower and im fine with that. Just dont want to seem to stingy or get taken either.

First of you should post an intro in the intro section. But to answer your question I would pay $4 per computer if no drive. Not sure why you would remove the platters if they just want the drive destroyed. Give them a cert of destruction and be done with it. Taking out the drive platters is not a quick easy task.

Are you going to sell them whole to someone else? I'd buy them all day long at $ 4.00- 5.00 each.

You have to make sure it's in "good conditions", before you try and sale it.

I pay $5 for complete desktop computers with hard drive or not. If any other parts are missing price goes down. As far as the hard drive i would ask each seller what method they prefer as there are several options. I wouldn't mention these options if they don ask about the hard drive.
    1. you keep the hard drive along with the computer, best option
    2. you pull the hard drives at time of drop off and hand them to the customer, good option
    3. you disassemble the hard drives and destroy the platters, getting worse
    4. you pull the har drive and pay a company with certification to professionally destroy them, worst option I would charge a fee or deduction from price for this

Yes the plan is to sell them whole to someone else. I dont have time myself to rip them all down besides just removing the drive.

i'm just a joker sometimes, man. i dont mean anything personal by it. i only tease people when i actually respect them. if i didnt, i would just ignore you. i think you can pull a profit on time and labor if you buy them for $5 each, but the better deal you can get, the better for you. If there are fewer computers available, my offer goes down, if the quantity goes up, my offer does too. good luck, and let us know how it goes

If you have no intention of dismantling them I would, if I lived near you, pay you $4-$5 each. I expect others to want to pay about the same so you would have to pay little to nothing in order to make a profit for you. Depending on how many you can aquire you may want to reconsider tearing them down. I suggest you do more reading of the electronics section and all the sticky threads. You may be surprised what you will learn there, Mike.
