Draining the tank on your compressor will only help...a little. The moisture in the air, on a hot/humid day gets sucked in. If warm, it stays in a vapor form and won't drop out of the air unless cooled. The tank can help but if using a lot of air volume, it goes right down stream and out of your hose
There is a posting on E bay that would take care of this problem, without buying a refrigerated air dryer. (Moisture in the compressed air will wash out the oil/lube in your tools and cause them to fail a lot sooner too).
Compressed Air Dryer 1 4" Point of Use Desiccant with Replacable Cartridge | eBay (Ends Oct. 21 though)
If you use a lot of compressed air cans, or an air compressor for tools/blowing things off, I would think this would save you money.
(I am not the E Bay seller and do not profit from sales). I have used desiccant products just like this and it rocks!
I am in the Air Compressor service industry though.
