    SATA Power supply connecters

    Can someone tell me if it would be considered a gold connector if they were clipped off? I ask because of the gold on the HDD and and DVD circuit boards. So wouldn't the power connector have the same inside as well?

    Yes, I have seen that thread. But I dont see anything regarding a SATA power connector. There is a quote stating "gold connects to gold" is this indeed true?

    I thought the IDE connectors would be also but was informed they we're not. I figured if they attached to boards and drives they should be gold connectors. I am waiting for clarification from one of the buyers here.

    Isn't cable #9 in the other thread an IDE?

    ide connectors on ribbon cable are gold connectors, i take them apart and get the gold plated pins out

    sata data cables are gold connectors

    the sata power connectors look to have gold plating also

    My mistake I was talking about the plugs on the ends of the power supply wire. yes #9 is an ide connector.
