My local transfer station told me today they take as many tubes from TVs and crts as I want to bring for free. Nice... maybe if your transfer station gets ewast taken for free they take your tubes too.
Then left there with 4 - 486 towers today.

Hmm, Actually, I just thought of this, offering the transfer station Regular desktop Prices which is usually 4 to 5 bucks a piece, and see if they wouldn't take Desktops for free from people or have people still pay to unload it and have them sit it aside like the transfer station does metal, and then you come in and buy them up, Money for the city and PCs in your possesion. I'm gunna give my transfer station a call.
heh, that sounds like me about 6 weeks ago.
then they realised they were empty and the problem down the line is that they send them to e-waste recyclers,
they handle them, go to scrap them out and there empty, it really is just waste, I took the e out already
but anyway, i've been limited to 5 per day, then was going to be charged for 'em, now the limit has gone
and it's all kinda awkward going there but I still do, actually I have 8 tv's in the car for an early sunday drop off.
yeah you'll find yourself chasing tv's just so you got something to take to the TF station to snag a couple towers.
I like the odd hard drive too, it's funny as people drop off towers with hard drives removed but then they put the hard drive in the stack too.
I found a secondary bonus that pays for my trip there, it's mulch! I need lot's of it for my garden and they got a mountain of mulch free! so I take along my shovel, unload tv's, maybe score something, I only ask if they are smiling, and then back up to the pile and shovel it in, load up the whole back and go, was thinking of maybe doing a little side biz' of delivering mulch to homes, a cubic metre of mulch sells for around $60 at garden centres without delivery, I could do a it for $60 per metre delivered and spread out.
