Hey guys, new to this site but not to scrapping. Ive been scrapping for years which was taught to me by my dad. Im currently 21 and on unemployment. I know how easy it is to supplement my income with scrapping but then I read about electronic recycling.
Ive been scrapping computer boards as electric motors at my current yard and getting paid 30 cents a pound. I start reading on this site 2 days ago and it seems Ive been making a horrible mistake.
Ive read up on the grades of boards/chips and about how to contact buyers. Of course I would have to ship the boards to the buyers.
My main question is or concern would be, this seems to be too easy. seeing as how the payout for high grade motherboards is ~$4 per pound, that means the 8lbs Ive acquired in the past day is already worth $32 vs $2 at the scrap yard.
Of course shipping less bulky loads I could use USPS, but is pallet shipping cheap enough to ship large amounts?
