    My 1st ABS plastic bale

I did my 1st ABS plastic bale today. Will be taking it out of the baler tomorrow since I ran out of time today. Did it in a vertical baler since I was unsure how it bales up. I have enough for a second bale and will probably try it in the horizontal baler to get more weight.

Will get pic and weight uploaded this weekend.

I need on of those balers in my life. Of course I would need a buyer for the plastic also. Good job.

From the picture, it would appear that you don't have to separate the plastic by color. Is there a price difference if you do? Thanks for sharing the pictures. Excellent job.

Yes I have a buyer (but I don't get the money but my employer does since it is their baler).

Not sure about prices yet. Even if price was zero, there is still a cost avoidance since not giving to pay to go into landfill.

There is very little money in abs plastic from ewaste unless you have high quantities of it. But better to recycle it rather than letting it end up in landfills.

    Prices go by category.
    Black
    White
    and 1 threw 7
    Then Mac plastic.

Kind of goes from Mac being most $$ then white or 1 threw 7 (pending your buyer)
Then black. Bailed you get most $$$

Just to clarify, our buyer categories 1 threw 7 as mixed colors.
Red, grey, blue and so on...

It is not really classified as a cardboard baler.

Theres few videos of people making car fuel from plastic by 'destructive distilation' (OK, we put it in a steel tank, roast the hell out of it, condense the vapours) on Utube.

I did a quick run of it, need a better condensor & free time to do it in, & got 50mls of a nice pale gold coloured liquid thats really really flammable & a little smokey.

    & probably cancer inducing

great bales. Mixed PCABS should go from about $0.16lb. it did go down a bit but still stronger than sending it the landfill.

I just got offered .02/lb IF it's baled. It'll go to the landfill and I'll pay $7.50 a hundred pounds.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
