who is giving you guys offers for .15c lbs?
who is giving you guys offers for .15c lbs?
It all depends on quantity and location of where the plastic is going. US buyers not shipping out of the country will pay between .05 and .14 per lb. I sell full truck loads at .20 to .24 per lb and it goes to china to be processed into new plastic. The price I just listed is for mixed with no printer plastic. If you sort light colors from dark colors you should get about .10 per lb more for the white and .22 for the Black. Hope this help answers some questions.
Unbaled, i was getting between 0.15-0.35 cents/pound. I was offered 0.50-0.55 baled, non-sorted. I was producing roughly 1 ton of ABS per day.
The prices that you're quoted for bailed mixed ABS are not correct. Find a buyer who knows what they are doing.
Good luck. And awesome job finding a bailer. Looks great.
I am giving my ABS to my work (recycling center). We will be sending it out via a mixed load. Still need a few more bales of different items to ship it out but when I do I will post the prices. It is going to be bales of ABS (~5 bales), Tubs&Lids (~15 bales), waxed cardboard (~6 bales), rigid plastic (~6 bales). We need about 40 bales total so it will be a few more months or we could throw on a few bales of another item. Not sure about the HIPS and PS plastic yet.
While we will not get full price for these they will get recycled and the best part is that I don't have to stockpile my plastic anywhere.
Thanks for the info. Who are you selling to for that kind of prices I have talked to at least ten different buyers with the problems in China everyone is hitting me right around the prices I listed. We ship out a 18 wheeler load every month.
Could you please send me the baler information you used for ABS plastic.
I am planning to bale printer plastic, I am not sure if cardboard baler will work or not. I would appreciate your response.
you guys will ONLY get good prices when you are doing truck load quantities...unless someone that processes it is local. ABS is on the lower end of plastic pricing (I have been doing a TON of research since when I expand my operation, I will start taking and baling all my plastics (or chipping into flakes). And you ABSOLUTELY get higher pricing if it is separated....it is very similar to paper. There are other grades of plastics that pay far more ect, but ABS is EVERYWHERE....easier to get than steel sometimes since there are SO few places to send it.
Horizontal balers will get you FAR more weight.....generally over 1K per BALE. Many companies want that since you can maximize the weight of a 18 wheeler (40K pounds ect) or shipping containers.
This post should be bumped alot. Keep it up top. Even though you guys may not have tl amounts yet its a major step. Keeping everythign out of the landfill and making more $$ to do it is awesome. I cant believe I have not been storing it. Were recycling here. We love the planet and $$ Paid to recycle plastic is another end any of us can add to our programs.
When possible Ill be getting a baler. Thats a while down the road unless you have one to trade. Anyone. This is a great post. Keep replying to keep it up top.
Whats a baler cost used. Any standard you should buy to maximize profit. Can they be had cheap. Trades. electric pallet jacks. scales, tons of other scrap yard type stuff. I get alot of fork trucks that are good but need batts. I buy for the steelcase thats in it. So if you have good steel case batts I may be able to in the future offer a good working fork trucks for a baler but it needs a batt.
Baled wire and al items pay more when sold truckload. Only way to fit the weight on the trailer to get it full. Good idea for light items.
Anyone have a cheap baler in New England area. I mean cheap or needs some work?
Aaron.
Up to .25 on trailer load sounds great to me. Better than making .05 cents on a whole load of batts. LOL
Aaron. Thats 8k profit plus what it cost to run your op.
Nice job on plastic.
Good learning being done here.
I don't keep up with ABS too much but I assume the majority of this (ABS plastic) is coming from E-waste...?
Majority does come from ewaste. Many other things are ABS also. Have noticed that most vacuums are ABS or PP.
