High yield gold trimmings?

I've seen several mentions of people saving the gold contacts from printers, ink cartridges, etc. Here is some gold contacts on various ink cartridges:



What about the contacts on cell phone batteries......does anyone mess with these? Do they yeild enough to remove?

Has anyone had any of these contacts refined? I'm starting to accumulate and am curious to the value. Are these considered high yeild or am I wasting my time? Adam

I put some of those printer cart contacts in HCL acid & ate the copper off. That let the gold foil drop off.

The gold that comes off is quite strong, even the little gold lines are strong & hasome 'bounce' to them when I squash them a bit.

The solid gold areas on the mylar after its trimmed will go for around $600 per pound. But all of the traces on the gold plated mylar are gold also so it might be better to sell it intact. Ive sold 1 ounce of solid plated trimmed mylar $50 before. The rest of the stuff is fingers or gold plated contacts goes for around $100 per pound.
