Need A New Buyer.

I love the customer service of the yard I bring my ewaste but their prices have always been extreamly low. I still brought lots of boards for two reasons

1) I hate, I mean hate, thinking of how to ship something. Not knowing what box size to use, how much weight to use, etc.

2) I liked supporitng local and their customer service.

Given this, the prices I've been getting have dropped even lower. $1.20 for finger cards???????

This has given me no choice, I have to begin mailing my boards. I can't even purchase computers to part-out and recycle under these new prices. I know this has been talked about before but I need some help on how to go about shipping. Should I go out and buy some large boxes? If so, what size? How much weight should I put in them? 70lbs tops? Do you seperate stuff in the box? Thanks for your time.

use an old lawnmower box, anything! (i do prefer not using alcohol or tobacco boxes however) Fill it up, tape it shut, add a label, ship it!

Weights above 70 lbs jump in price if you are using USPS parcel post. Big sturdy boxes from any source work but tape them really well. I also get a delivery confirmation and insurance just in case. I have occasionally bought the medium sized boxes from Staple and used them when I didn't have an option. I can't speak to using FedEx and have only used UPS once. Hope that helps.

I know how you feel. I was getting ripped off hard at the local e-scrap place for a long time before I found this forum.
I started shipping to Ewasted and wouldnt even think about going back to that local spot now.
Just follow the directions on the site and get the label. It's too easy.

I've had one for umpteen years, thinking i got it at a yard sale or something. That thing's taped up a zillion boxes. Just what you need for the bigger ones. You can find multiple roll packages of tape on ebay on the cheap. The brown tape in the picture is good for covering up pre-printed boxes, the clear works on anything else

I getmy boxes from lowes hardware large moving boxes i think they are 18x18x24 around 1.70 a box also.

Craigslist in the free section usually has a lot of moving boxes listed that will work just perfect

Do you guys pay upfront for the fed-ex/usps shipping or do you have the buyer pay for it and deduct it from the total? I hate getting hit with paypal fees, does anyone know the typical turn around time for checks in the mail?

go to your local wally world on freight night. The cereal boxes work GREAT. and they are free.

Walmart go on freight night. Get the cereal boxes they work great. Ewasted gives paypal or check options.Pretty fast turn around.

If you have only small stuff like processors or ram or even smaller finger cards you could use the large flat rate box for usps. The box is free from the post office and you can pack up to 70lbs in if shipped for about $15.
