I knowthis won't answer your question, but in working condition, a laptop hard drive of the same value as a desktop hard drive can fetch better money.
Now on to your question. Laptop hard drive scrap value. Well, the boards are insanely thin and light to start with. To think about tearing them down would just be rediculous. Youa re looking at an ounce or less for the board and the rest is just stupid low return for the time involved in my opinion.
If I were to get my hands on a bunch that I knew for a fact for not working, I would probably still pull the board and then just chuck the rest in dirty aluminum or such.
