Some things just have a "Cool" factor. I also own and operate a small computer store as well as recycling and I like to keep some of the unusual things in my store as displays. Maybe you could check with some of the computer shops in your area and sell that for more than scrap value. It is a lot easier to explain to customers how a hard drive works with a large one like that than a regular hard drive. You may want to push it's "Cool" factor also as a display object. I myself have several large hard drive as well as unusual boards in my shop.
There may a million better places to live than Iowa, but none of them are home!

"Anybody of our buyers buy large Hard Drives?"

1 - Click advanced search under search bar

2 - Type in "hard drives"

3 - Select the "buyers and sellers section"

    4 - Click search

I have a funny feeling buyers are not going to pay $1 per pound for that hard drive

Mike....I had two drives just like the ones in your avitar that I ended up scrapping. After the plastic was gone, I had some al, wire, and some electric motor scrap. I really regret scrapping them now and wish I'd just put them away whole. I did keep the large platters and spacers for them for their cool factor and they are hanging on my shop wall. I hate to scrap the old cool stuff.

We would obviously purchase them. I would need you to send me more info and I can get you a price. It should be more than you think.

I found this about the Kennedy 5380 drive. There is a little bit of information on it in appendix D on the following pdf file.
Looks like this drive might have come from a Digital system. The reference manual is from 1983 so your really big drive is pretty old.

    http://decdoc.itsx.net/emulex/SC0251...C02C_Oct85.pdf

Oh and I found an old usenet post from 1981 that says your drive is an 80 MB drive.

I did an advanced search from the link under the Google search box. I used the box for exact phrase using Kennedy 5380 to get away from all the Kennedy as president references. This lead me to a page on your hard drive. give it a whirl.
