TIVO 2 DVR Mainboard Question

These look like some good boards. They have some large input attachments soldered onto them, which although they're wrapped in metal, have boards in them that look fairly good as well. I got one to come loose without damaging the board, but removing the other one broke off part it. The input attachment sides pop off fairly easy, but the band around it is soldered. What's the best route to go with these, and what would you expect to be the result ?

As non motherboard, I get mid to high grade from them. 1-2 bucks a lb... Depending on the rest of my material and sort

Looks like some nice gold on those boards and the chips seem to have the old tab coming off the corner. I would try to get motherboard or maybe low end of the spectrum as telecom. Would like to see a better picture of that smaller board when you get it out of the metal. Never had one of them before so I am taking a shot on what they should go as.

I have about 300 sat/dvr receivers i'm taking apart. have the same type of board which i expect to be high grade, but has all the inputs so not sure. so far i have a box of the small boards still in the metal cases. seems to be a real pain to get them out so i'm gonna leave and see what i get.

Most buyers call them mid grade and pay less than rainbow MoBo but I've got two buyers that will let me slip them in with MoBo. I usually buy a couple hundred lbs. a month from my TV guys out of projection TVs. Some of them have lots more metal shielding and can be a PITA. There are a couple of ways to clean them the most painless way is to desolider with a crack torch

but easy to get burned and the molten solider ends up every where so wear an apron.
A sharp chisel is another way but you end up cutting off components if your not really careful. The last batch I used an ax, dykes, and a torch.

From the pictures it looks like there a 7 or 8 screws on the back of the small boards.

Ughhhhh....my eyes are not what they used to be....low grade all the way or see if you can get them through with your cbm's if you leave the bits of copper on them.

Thinking I'll pop em off and toss em in the shred. Hoping the mainboard will fetch a decent price. It's got 2 S-video, 2 USb, an RJ11, and RJ45 connectors on it too, plus an IDE connector and imbedded CPU

Non motherboard?? These are as motherboard as it gets actually. Embedded CPU (Broadcom MIPS Processor) Embedded RAM, Ethernet, Modem, Video, IDE

Are you referring specifically to TIVO Motherboards here?

They're definitely not Rainbow, from all I can find it seems to be a full fledged green motherboard, although I'm still wondering what extent of prep would be required
