    OS product keys

    What are the legal aspects to reselling windows product key stickers. I see on ebay people sell them but ebay requires a piece of hardware to be included in the sale. Is it legal to resell them without the disk? I get a lot of computers that aren't worth fixing that have the stickers on them and wondering if that's 20-30 a pop im throwing away.

    Never fails. I search and come up with nothing and after the post I look at the bottom of that post and find some answers

    What im getting from the post I read here is that it is illegal to do but eBay allows people to get away with it? Any truth to this?

    if there is a flaw in their system, or the EULA, they'll soon find and "fix" it ; ) Not sure about your actual question tho

    most will post that they are selling a side panel, and it just happens to have the license on it. Try selling/trading to your local computer store

    All the above will work on ebay. However it is far less then legit. Microsoft can still get you by the seat meat and chew for awhile.

    Here is a post from 2 months ago that might help; Thanks to Drozenski;
    OEM keys are illegal to install on any other hardware than what they were originally assigned too. Selling them you must include an original piece of hardware from the PC to be "legal" However the person receiving that licence is unable to install it legally. But you can let them worry about that.

    The best way to ship keys is
    Tape it to a piece of paper, tape on a jumper from the mother board. Then it is light enough to fit up to 50 in 1 envelope if you trim the paper on one 42 cent stamp.

    Yes I read that but post #13 in that thread basically overthrows the whole thing and says that this is illegal. I would rather follow the law than follow the lucky.
