1985 VHS Breakdown : Rather Uneventful

I tore down what musta been an older one recently which was almost solid Al inside. This one I didn't fare so well.

Inside had sand all in it till I hosed it down, and a stuck tape inside, which I didn't try to retrieve

    Bottom

TV Tuner : When I got those cross members pulled up, I wondered was there silver in that ?

So what was this worth after all that work? Truth be told I cut cords and toss mine in the shred.

You make less than 1$ extra with breakdown on typical vcrs. I've weighed the parts on a postage scale to the ounce. Of course, there are some older machines that have a lot more weight to em, those are worth it.

Ever thought about listing the working units for free on craigslist to network? I've got a stack of them myself and I've been thinking about doing this.

maybe a dollar? I spent more time editing and posting photos than I did anything else tho. Yep, depending on where you're at, grab the easiest stuff and toss. I had an older(or better, not sure now which) that had an entire Al framework inside, and according to percents I've seen on here, it should have brought dirty Al price pretty much as it was, but the guy said nope, shred. I took it back and dismantled it just for the heck of it, and it was built a hek of a lot better than this one.

my guess was a buck yep, if that, and sure, some are easy to see by popping the cover that it's almost entirely Al inside, those should get dirty Al price pretty much as is(my thoughts on the matter anyway), unless you got a overly zealous scaleman

I like the older ones like that just for the transformer. Always nice and heavy. I guess it's worth it if you can get a little higher than shred price for the low grade boards. Plus if those buttons are gold( I read the other thread regarding those) then I guess it's worth it if you get enough of them. Like its always been stated only you know what your time is worth.

Broke down one almost identical to this several months ago. Always interesting to break down something new but in the end it felt like a waste of time. Live and learn.

Travis, are you parting these out? I don't know there's any kind of market for VCR parts. If not I suggest using a postage scale and be true to yourself about the weights.

some parts if there good but gears belts and led numbers there is a huge market for and decent money for the smaller screens i sell in lots usually 20 for $10 as for everything else thats still copper steel alu ic chips and more which makes it worth it to me takes about 10-15min to tear apart 1 and get at least $3 each $12hr or more and get to have fun doing it

You don't follow instructions very well. It says "Do not open".

Then again, do we ever follow instructions? Never.
