how much would you pay for this?

Someone locally has offer me to buy this form him:
    • About 10 dell gx270s, complete
    • about 50 hard drives of various kinds
    • several pounds of cards and RAM

I don't know what "several pounds" means, and unfortunately can't really get an accurate # from the seller.

Assuming only scrap value, how much would you pay for the batch?

    thx

$75 to $100 depending on how much cards and ram they have. Thats just scrap value if you want to about double your money.

I have found that if the seller is within 50% of my buy price, I'll go over there and see what they have. This week I drove over 20 miles to see a load of 10 PCs. We had haggled a bit on the price over the phone but it wasn't close to what I wanted to pay (we were apart about $100). I decided to go and see what he had. To make a long story short, I drove away with 15 PCs, a box of hard drives, 1lb of additional ram, 2 working laser printers, a box of cables all for $85.
You just never know what a belly to belly interaction might accomplish.
    Good Luck!!

I just tell them my pricing and per lb. and let them decide.

I tell people that "our company specializes in keeping the harmful chemicals in these products out of landfills. Yes there is some gold in them but it takes LARGE AMOUNTS of product to get any recovery. The price I pay is about half of what I get and I have to sit on it til I get a large load to send out. The money I pay is just and incentive to do the right thing with stuff you'd probally have to throw out anyway."

When I show up I bring my scale and set it up and start weighing. Here are some pics of the scales I got from Harbor Freight.

    $18.99

    $37.99

I spent $50 on the dells and $53 on the cards/ram. He threw in the hard drives for free.
