"Yes, I am not proud to admit it, but when I first started with laptops, I couldn't figure out an easy way to get to the hard drive. So after the 3rd one, I googled how to remove the hard drive, and that is when I learned about the screw. Needless to see, I feel like a complete idiot right then. Now, it is easy as anything, and they get to stay in."

Don't beat yourself up, George. Almost everything I ever learned about computers, I learned on here -that may be true of others on the forum.

Your post helped me, because I'm still practically having to take a sledgehammer to the @#$%^ laptops, so it's good to know there are easier ways to skin that cat!

I mainly would just force the keyboard area off to get to the hard drive. Have never gotten a laptop yet without a cracked screen to it, so I figured, what was the point in being gentle lol

But yeah, after I found out about the hard drive compartment, it has made my job EASIER for sure!
