    eMac case dismantling

I got several eMacs and iMacs which I had not had any of before. The one-piece eMac case is held with big-head screws I couldn't seem to find anything to fit. Torx bits simply rounded them out. Finally hit on it - they take a 2.5mm hex head. All I had with hex head were Allen wrenches which I'd never had to use for scrapping before. Being that small with bad arthritis, I couldn't manipulate them and was having a heck of a time. Just didn't seem worth driving the 15 miles to see IF I could find a 2.5mm hex driver for my battery drill. Hit on a solution -- I cut the short leg off the Allen wrench and the long leg worked with the drill. I figure if I lose it after I get done with these eMacs, it doesn't matter:

    1. I don't plan on taking any more eMacs
    2. Even if I do, I've got several sets of Allen wrenches that I haven't used in years

Thought this might help someone else.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Here is a post I made on breaking down emacs and imacs which mentions those screws. Emacs and Imacs
