I 100% agree and wish this was said here more often. I got slammed for suggesting it on a different thread.

The scrap room was (from what I understand) designed and created as a means for scrappers on all levels to share tips, tricks, and ideas on how to maximize business, and thus maximizing profits really. Basically a meeting place for all the wealthy knowledge so to speak.

Now, the forum itself was designed and created for pretty much the same purposes. For individuals/companies to be able to seek advice, share their knowledge, tips, and tricks, and to help others in any way they possible can.

If everyone was forced to go to the "Scrap Room" to learn anything and everything about scrapping metal, then there would be no need for the public forum at all, and if that is the case, then the whole forum as an entire thing should be charged a membership.

The members who belong there, or don't belong there, all have free will to share their expertise and knowledge to anyone they want to, for free or other wise.

Way I see it, most people here, share their wealth of knowledge with those not so knowledgeable, because at one time, they themselves were not so knowledgeable, and they had someone who had been there, done that a million times over to give them a hand, so they are passing on that generosity.

Bottom line is simple...everyone has a choice here to share or not to share their findings, knowledge, tips, and tricks, whether they belong to the "Scrap Room" or not.

Also, one thing that anyone in general should understand, that with so many resources readily available on the internet, and all of them for free, there is so many choices to get the information anyone seeks, without needing to pay for it.

I am not knocking the Scrap Room at all. I have heard nothing but great things about the place, just my humble opinion. I do plan myself to become a member more than likely in the near future. As well as a buyer on this forum, which I test the waters for the stuff I sell on my own a little bit more, so I have a strong idea on pricing, and what I can flip it for, and how long it will take me. Take it how you wish.

A simple google search would have put these people in the right direction. Hell it probably would have come back with a few examples. Yet these people rather than do what should be "common sense" took it app on themselves to be lazy and just ask for a hand out.

This forum is a wealth of knowledge. But it does not make up for the fact that certain information people have spent years of blood sweat and tears on and should be protected. You want information that people are not willing to post in public then buy a scrap room member ship. You want one of our members to tell you how to make a certificate forum that may have taken hours to perfect, well you better be ready to at least pay to have a drive destroyed to get one.

The would of business is not all lolly pops and hand outs.

    You want info.

    1. Google search. 95% of your questions will be answered. Google
    2. Research the forum to see if the question has been asked.
    3. Ask your buyer if it's a scrap related question as they will always know better than a bunch of random strangers on the internet.
    4. Make a thread.

And George if you follow the first 2 rules im sure some of use might start to respect you as a knowledgeable businessman.

Those of you that responded to me get a life. As far as sources go, what sources? Just provide a link so that I can fill out the information it is as simple as that. I am running a business asking others for business advice and like George said this information is for free on this web forum and others websites as well.

Oh and by the way people do give things away for free lol. That is how I get all of my Ewaste lol

What does this mean If you didn't want responses why post questions? Like Drozenski said nothing is for free. You buy it with money or you buy it with research and YOUR time. This is your business. Why should you get a business consultation for free I know my business and do a lot of research on finding out what I don't know. Goolge is a great place to start when you have any question.

    Have a great day.

    Eric
I buy Tantalum Capacitors and offer other services. Check out my thread for more info.

GeorgeB is right! This website is all about questions! Even have a Scrap Metal Questions and Answers area in the regular forum area! and I do intend on getting a scrap room membership as well, when I have the money to. I will be doing this to support the forum not to find money making ideas that may or may not be there!
