    Hoarding or collecting

I picked up 12 computer monitors, 4 TVs, 2 microwaves, 2 five-gallon buckets of wire, and large recycle bin full of phones and satelite boxes; all from one home today. Sometimes a really worder about people, but I'm glad they call.

Most of the time when I have pick ups like these they are either moving or did not want to put them in the trash. People are becoming aware of the fact that this stuff needs to be disposed of properly.

If it wasn't for me and my CL ad, it was all heading for the dump or the burn barrel. I was happy to help avoid that.

All for free. I just had to haul it away.
I set up a work bench on sawhorses in my driveway and broke down the TVs and monitors right there in a couple of hours. I pulled the circuit boards, yoke, and degaussing loop then took the plastic cases and glass tubes to our recycling station. Now I just have a couple of bins of parts to break down later instead of a pile of CRTs in my shop. It was worth the time to do it right then.

I got a chance to dig in the bin of phones and satellite boxes, in the bottom I found 6 hard drives, 6 sticks of ram, 3 fire extinguishers, and a home medical oxygen bottle. Oh, and a working hand-held CB radio. I love the randomness of scrapping!
