Big Recycle Drive Coming Up For Me

Hey guys, just thought I would throw out an FYI. I’m holding a recycle drive for the college where I teach at the end of this month and I think it may be huge! It’s been on the radio, papers, Facebook, etc. They even had to establish three drop off locations for the material. If you ever get the chance to do a recycle drive, do it! It takes some leg work, but it’s well worth it. Keep hustling everyone!

Great job Jeremiah! What kind of hoops did you have to jump through to make it happen? ie: insurance, licensing, paper trails on the waste.

The hoops are minimal actually. Not sure about other states. The leg work can be taxing at first since you have to convince people to let you hold a fundraiser for them and explain how they would get paid. However, after one successful event, you have a point of reference upon which to sell yourself. Nonprofits talk with on another and a good reference will land you more and more recycle drives. This one will be my fourth within the last year and I’ve been contacted about more.

I always tell people that “business is local…so be local”. Be part of your local community and help other business/people. In return, they will want to help you. One good Facebook post about your company from a well liked person will have your phone ringing for a month.
