    Good job! I read your original post and was following it when a guy called me to come look at some stuff today. Turns out he has a whole Crestron audio system sitting in a trailer. I paid him about $5 for the whole thing and got to thinking of the "more than scrap" angle. Conservative estimates based on searches tells me i can get a couple hundred bucks. We'll see....hope to have the same success you are enjoying. Thanks for the update.

    I spent the better part of yesterday working on breaking down my heap of vcrs, dvd players, and receivers.

    I had one really low-end Pioneer amplifier. No video pass-thru, no a/v processing, not even an LCD screen on it. Strictly a 4 channel amplifier. The board in it was lower than a TV, though it had a couple of nice chokes on it. BUT, it had a transformer in it that had to weigh 15-20 pounds if it weighed an ounce. I'll have to set it on a scale, it was a beast.
