IBM Thinkpad 701C Butterfly laptop

I am trying to sell a broken IBM Thinkpad 701C Butterfly laptop. So far there are no bids and the auction ends in about 14 hours. I might lower starting bid a bit, but if the auction ends with no bids, my current plan is to escrap it.



My question is this: generally I do not take apart laptops, but do you think that this one might have parts like the CPU that would make it worthwhile to take it apart? Of course, I am not talking about working parts, only escrap, since I have no way of testing them.

OK but by "scrapping" do you mean selling it complete or ripping it apart?

Some of those older processors and hard drives have decent refurb/resale prices. Try to look up the specific components you have on ebay. It may be worth parting it out if they are functioning.
