Ive been using a Black & Decker LI3100 for the last year. Its actually been a pretty good little screwdriver but its pretty slow. Only 180 rpm. Im looking to get one that a bit faster but i dont really want to spend alot. I was looking at the skil ixo but it isnt much faster. 200 rpm. What do yall use?

im using the exact same one right now, also have a full size drill that i prefer to use on cases. Once the cases are opened i use that black and decker on them. Basically assembly line style. I line up about 10 towers then undo all the exterior screws. Then i do the ones on the motherboard and drives one at a time.Originally Posted by mikedmissouri
The drill last alot longer on a battery than the cordless screwdriver does. But the drill even with an extended bit will not get all of the motherboard screws especially ones in the corners. I prefer to use the smaller ones inside cases.

I use a Black and Decker that I picked up at Wal-mart for $20.00. I've had it for about a year and still going strong. It has an internal battery and I charge it every night. I have no problem getting at all screws on a computer. I think k-mart has the same screw driver for $20.00.

Except twice the torque and 280rpm's compared to 180 on the b&d. Almost twice the price too.

i dont like the idea of double the torque and no way to limit it, round out a case screw and your hunting for the nutdriver not good

Valid point.
I like my Dewalt 18v ... It works great and battery lasts a long time. Yes its a little on the heaver side than the smaller screwdrivers but I feel it works much better the the old B&D screw driver I had.

my drill is a hitachi 14v lithium ion, i really like it it is light and has plenty of power and battery life.

Use a Black&Decker drill most of the time, but i do keep around a P.O.S. chicago electric screwdriver from harbor freight and tool.

I bought 2 of these at Christmas. One for me and one for my Son. Batt stayes charged all day. Only issue is where the forward and reverse button is. But it is light weight, lots of torque and 2 speeds with clutch.

I paid second hand prices for both at a tool resale shop. I wouldn't have a problem paying retail for either based on my experiences. I stage alot of stuff I am breaking down assembly line style like someone said above. I use multiple drivers so I don't have to change out bits as much

I really like that one, you can swap batteries, it has adjustable torque and is lithium ion, looks like a well designed screwdriver that could also be used for light drilling projects.
