- weird keyboards
i got 2 pallets of old equipment from the lumber yard yesterday, most of the stuff if late 1980s and there are about 30 keyboards that have me confused, when i got them apert there is no mylar sheet just a large board and the keys are stuck to it, any idea what to do with it, maybe just toss in the low grade?

didnt see anything like them on ebay and most of the have writing on them this key or that key dosent work or have alot of missing keys

looks somewhat like a Wyse 60 dumb terminal keyboard. Executone phone systems used a modified Wyse terminal with that kind of keypad with the phone cord jack, I have a box full. I took one appart and the board looks the same. Looks low grade to me.

Some of '80 keyboards are pretty expensive. Specially IBM's. They called clicking keyboards.
Check ebay for "Vintage 1986 IBM keyboard" so you'll have some ideas.
May be worth much more than you think.

none have sold, but theres only one listed and its priced way too high in my opinion, id park it in my store at $29.99 let it sit for a couple months if it hadnt sold by then id drop the price to $19.99

when your selling stuff found in scrap on ebay defective comes with the territory, by testing you can cut some of that risk, i shoot for volume and quick turnover so i sell everything untested and have a decent amount of returns accordingly

Probably terminal keyboards (wonder who snagged the server).
the company i got them from kept the server because it had their records on it and stuff, or at least thats what i was told. i just got the terminals and keyboards i tired powering them up but no luck. i member from the forum sent me a pm so i may have an outlet for them, thanks for the advice, i do have some clicky keyboards i got yesterday im gonna test and put on ebay when i have some time or get someone to do it for me.

I have seen those before, the keys are soldered on the board. You can try to knock the keys off the board and sell as a low grade board.

I have seen a few different sorts of systems in old keyboards, reed switches, 'induction coil' sorta thing & a few I still can't figure out how they work. Musta been something about owning patents. I guess.
