I have the chance to buy a box of xeons like the ones in this link Compaq PIII Xeon X700 Pentium III Xeon, 700 MHz (175292-001) Processor Upgrade - Processors - Product Reviews and Prices - Shopping.com
They come with heat sinks but i wondered if anyone knew if these were copper and aluminum or just aluminum heat sinks? It will cost me $45 for 40 of these. Is it worth it?

40 wouldn't be worth 45? Even with a heat sink on them? I am not questioning you e-tack, I have never dealt with these so I have no clue, I just would never believed that it wouldn't be worth it. I would've went for it blindly... Learn something new everyday!

40 of those would come out to be about 2-2.5 pounds of slot processors.

add in gas, time to break them down ect, @45 they are a loss.
I just parted out a couple of Compaq servers with those proccessors. Each clean card weighs in at 4.5 ounces each. So 40 of them would weigh 11.25 pounds. At 11.50 a pound (Ewasted price) you would net around 129.00 bucks plust the aluminum. I would buy them for basically a buck apiece all day long!

Thanks for the replies. The weights really helped. The $45 i quoted included the shipping aswell so i should make a bit out of it.

Just thought i'd let you know what i got from this lot of 39 pentium 3 xeons. 11lbs of pentium cards which i managed to sell @ $17 a lb. 44 lbs of aluminum @ $0.54 a lb. In total i got back $210.76. Just in case anyone asks where i sold the pentium cards i thought i would let you know i'm in the UK and all these prices are converted from £ per kilo.
